WEDDINGS IN SARDINIA | Wedding Planner in Sardinia.
Couples getting married in Italy need to provide specific documents from your home country to certify your identity and to prove there are no legal impediments to your marriage.
You should allow plenty of time to organise your documents, book a date with the Town Hall and venue and allow for everything to be verified and processed by your consulate in Italy.
Under Italian law, a wedding can only be official if taking place in the Town Hall or in a church. It is possible to have a “wedding” in a hotel or on the beach – but it is not legally binding – and you will still have to go to the Town Hall to sign the wedding register and to prepare all the necessary documentation prior to the ceremony.
